The Phlebotomist will perform all phlebotomy procedures according to laboratory prot! ocol in compliance with the requirements set forth in the Federal Register and the State of California Personnel Code of Regulations. Phlebotomy will be performed so as to assure specimen integrity throughout the throughout testing phase. The incumbent will also perform reception duties, greet and direct patients, order test utilizing the laboratory information system and will look up results, distribute reports. Will also process specimens.
Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, inferti! lity counseling, and weight management.
Qualification! s
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of phlebotomy training required. Must possess a valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate, issued by the CA State of Health Services; requirements for which are established by the CA Administration Code 1034, April 4, 2003. Previous experience in Phlebotomy, Laboratory Assisting, Specimen Processing data entry/computer experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred. Must be well versed in all aspects of Office Procedures, Phlebotomy, Medical Terminology as pertaining to laboratory testing requirements and processing. Must have developed computer skills with LIS experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable on all aspects of clinical blood draws. Proven ability to plan, organize workload activities, and prioritize multiple processes simultaneously for maximum efficiency. Must possess verbal and written communication skills and be able to troubleshoot problems over the phone.! Must be customer service oriented and a team player. Position requires standing on your feet most the day. The position requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to effectively perform phlebotomy and to operate computer systems. Must be able to perform lifting, pulling, and/or carrying of objects, also, stooping climbing, and kneeling on an occasional basis. On a constant basis, must be able to walk, stand, or sit, bend, twist, reach, perform simple grasping and fine manipulation. Must be able to work flexible hours including evening, weekend, and holiday hours as deemed necessary by the shift schedule and to allow adequate coverage for others to take time off. Must be willing to travel to all through out San Joaquin County.
