The Manager-Project Variation Reduction has responsibility for developing data-driven solutions to healthcare business needs and coordinating activities and resources in support of variation reduction projects. This individual will work directly with SGMF/GMG management,physician leaders, and Sutter Physicians Services. The incumbent will be required to work with high degree of professionalism across departments and throughout the organization. The Project Manager will help coordinate variation reduction projects and develop reports to track physician performance, answer critical questions or concerns, support strategic planning and propose solutions. Report prep! aration and analysis will focus on various clinical and busine! ss processes that could include areas of electronic health records, managed care claims, billing, accounts receivable, reimbursement and scheduling. The incumbent will develop reports to track physician performance in the EHR and will collaborate to address concerns form clinicians and proposed solutions. The Project Manager must be able to work independently across Sutter Gould Medical Foundation and communicate effectively with all levels of management. Knowledge of the healthcare industry is required, along with specific knowledge of the ambulatory care is preferred. The Project Manager will be expected to perform various special projects as assigned, as well as meet appropriate accuracy standards and deadlines. This position requires travel to off-site Sutter Health meetings as well as the three counties served by the Foundation.

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based ! in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance or Healthcare or equivalent combination (8 years) of education and pertinent experience in healthcare field. At least 5 years experience analyzing data, managing multiple projects, producing reports and presenting results in a healthcare environment required. Experience working in the administrative side of a healthcare organization with managed care, billing and accounts receivable, and/or reimbursement activity is preferred. Prior experience with! reporting in a Epic environment is strongly preferred. Experience crea! ting reports from a relatiional database is desired. PMP certification preferred. Demonstrative experience comprehending business question to roll data together in logical meaningful and efficient manner and then interpret results is highly required. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical quality improvement programs, such as EHR Incentive Programs/Meaningful Use, e-RX and Lean preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, EHR best practices, and continuous process improvement concepts. Knowledge in SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services. Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and private insurance billing and related data elements of HCFA 1500 and/or UB92 forms (CPT, ICD-9, etc.). Must have exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills and attention to detail. Superior verbal and written communication skills are required. Group presentation skills using PowerPoint are required. Computer proficiency in the areas of MS Office products in a windows environment required Must pos! sess:

Able to communicate complex issues in both verbal and written form in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to gather, document and track on business requirements ba! sed on various project needs.

Prolonged sitting, repetitive use of hands and viewing computer screen, some walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
