Sutter Gould Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit health care organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people in the communities it serves. With 17 care centers in Modesto, Stockton and five other communities in the Central Valley, a full range of medical care is available at convenient locations. Physician services are provided by Gould Medical Group, Inc., serving Central Valley residents for more than 50 years.

The Developer II is responsible for the analysis, definition, design, programming, development, initial! testing and implementation of interface, database, applicatio! n, and/or web-related projects. Responsible for the evaluation, implementation, upgrade, and support of changes to existing interfaces, databases, applications, systems, and /or Web-related projects. Accountable for creation, administration, and maintenance of system procedures, reports, applications, and related documentation. Accountable to develop end-products meeting established standards, procedures, and specification. The Developer-II is responsible for performing highly skilled and technical problem determination, resolution, support, and recommendations for interfaces, databases, applications or web related projects within development, test and production environments. Responsible for analyzing, comparing, and evaluating data, making recommendations to management for process improvement and operational changes. The Developer II must be a self-starter, taking initiative for identifying customer needs through needs assessment, problem-solving, and recommending solutio! ns based on the needs of the business. Responsible for system and server administration, including data integrity, capacity planning, performance tuning, configuration management, and change management. The Developer II works closely with local, regional, and enterprise wide IT departments and affiliate groups regarding the technical aspects of product design, development, and support.

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county Central Valley area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.
A Bachelor Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, H! ealthcare Administration, Business, the specialized Application, or related field is required. For applicants with degrees not related to Computer Science, significant specialized course work or experience in software development is required . The equivalent combination of education, training, application/hardware support, hardware/software installation projects, and hospital/clinic operation experience may be substituted. Five to seven (5-7) of experience in developing. implementing, and supporting applications/interfaces, database/information/access/database analysis, and /or Web sites/pages/applications is desired. Tech-industry certifications of specific job roles within the departmental need are required. Experience developing and supporting complex projects is required. Seasoned high level programming skills in a business environment are required:

Programming (SQL, VB.NET, ASP, HTML, Cold Fusion, JavaScript)
Databases (e.g. MA SQI, MySQL, Access, Mumps, O! racle, Clarity)
Reporting applications (Information Builders, Excel Pivot Tables)
Operating systems (Windows 2000/2003)
Healthcare Applications (IDX, EPIC) desired Hospital and/or other health care application experience is preferred. Seasoned experience in software development and of complex Information Systems projects is required. Must have proven success in communicating with multiple levels of an organization. Seasoned problem determinitation and resolution experience is required. Experience with major health care computer systems (patient accounting, lab, radiology, admitting) is desired. Significant Knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts and technologies is required, as is a strong knowledge of computer systems hardware and software, object-oriented analysis, design, and programming methodologies. Knowledge of health care operations an structure, department- specific policies and procedures and workflow, general requirements in an ! integrated delivery system, and use of information systems applications! in the practicing health care environment is preferred. Strong understanding of data structures and databases transaction/analytical/relational database models is preferred. Significant knowledge in data warehouse and decision support strategies is preferred. Knowledge of current technology and how it is best utilized in designing systems and implementing applications is desired. Knowledge of data processing concepts and technologies in computer science, application programming, related programming, data structures and personal computer systems hardware and software is desired. Must have strong problem and issue resolution experience. Must have the ability to multi-task, and work on several projects. Must have good organization skills, be able to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, and deliver quality service. Must be a self-starter and take initiative to analyze, recommend, and solve business problems. Must be able to work clos! ely with healthcare application users, vendors, and technical professionals, building teams when necessary. Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt courteous manner. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have demonstrated success in the techniques and communication skills needed to successfully support software development. Must be able to convey complex technical concepts and user needs to non-technical individuals, as well as communicate technical issues and solutions in business terms. Must have a commitment to detail and accuracy. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to learn new skills. Must possess the ability to maintain a high level of energy and creativity. Must be able to use project management and other professional software tools. Regular and timely attendance is required. Working outside the norma! l business hours to complete projects and tasks on time, and perform sy! stem/sever administration and maintenance is an essential function of the job.
