This exciting opportunity will be targeted to Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist BCOP candidates who have worked in the hospital inpatient acute care or medical group setting . The Cancer Center Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will be part of a non-profit and growing healthcare system that is dedicated to providing the best care possible for residents of the communities.
The Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist BCOP will join a multi-specialty health care organization that thrives to provide quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. The medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.
With the support and resources of the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Supervisor, the Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist BCOP will function as a drug specialist and therapy consultant in promoting optimum medication use in patient care areas whose client base includes patients of all ages.
The Cancer Center Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will compound, package, label, and dispense drugs and intravenous admixture solutions. The Clinical Pharmacist will review and confirm accuracy of work performed by technical and pharmacy intern support personnel; review prescribed drug therapy for appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety based on specific data such as age of patient, disease state, and clinical status.
The Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist BCOP will also perform quality assurance, drug use evaluation, and adverse reactions reporting activities; participates in the application of all clinical services while accurately record and maintain information required by federal regulations, California laws, and department policy. The ideal candidates for Oncology Clinical Pharmacist should have completed PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency.
