Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 05/13/2013Available Shi! fts: 8 Hour/Day
A primary care physician is needed to work in this outpatient clinic starting as soon as credentialing can be completed. The assignment will last for a period of three months, or until a permanent hire can be identified. Working hours are from 8:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
The physician shall be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in I! nternal Medicine or Family Practice. Additionally, an active B! asic Life Support certification will be required prior to the start date.
