with the onset of ACA, practicing medicine has become increasingly more
challenging with obstacles physicians never planned, nor bargained.
The Department of the Navy is actively seeking a BE/BC Internist as an immediate need for sunny San Diego. Malpractice is covered, call is 1:8, and the option of working as a 1099, or W2 is on the table.

STATEMENT OF WORK:
The Contractor shall
provide personnel for services in the Internal Medicine Clinic. Naval
Medical Center, San Diego, CA.
2. Labor category: The Contractor shall provide personnel

from the following labor category:
Internal Medicine Physician (I individual)
3. Qualifications. The health care worker (HCW) shall
possess and maintain the minimum qualifications stated in
Section C of the basic contract and the following specific

qualification:
3.1. Possess and maintain a current D! rug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number (certificate) to prescribe
controlled substances as listed in 21 C.F.R. 1308.
4. Staffing and scheduling.
4. 1. The Contractor shall provide I full time individual
Internal Medicine Physician. To maintain continuity of
services. The Commanding Officer will not privilege more
than
one individual for the required position.
4.2. The Commanding Officer or a designated Government
representative will supervise the HCW.
4.3. Tour of Duty. The HCW shall be on duty for 80 hours
every two weeks, except during periods of approved
leave and holidays. In no instance will the HCW be required
to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave
and holidays) in excess of 80 hours each per 2-week period.
Services shall normally be provided for an 8-hour period
Monday through Friday between the hours of0600 and 0030,
weekends between the hours of0800 and 0030 and the
! day of observance of Federal holidays between the hours of
0800 and 0030. Weekday shifts. weekends and the days
of observance of Federal holidays shall be rotated with
other Physicians. An individual HCW will not
be required to work more one weekend per month. The specific
schedule will be published I month in advance.
At the mutual agreement of the contractor alternative schedules may be
implemented.

4.4. As part of the HCW's normal tour of duty. the Internal
Medicine Physician shall rotate telephonic on-call
services with all providers in tJ1e Internal Medicine
Clinic, Naval Medical Center, San Diego. On-call should occur one week out of
every eight weeks. On-call hours are normally Monday through Friday from 1900
to
0700 the next day and 0700 to 0700 on Saturdays, Sundays and
the day of observance of Federal holidays. The
Government will assign a beeper or cellular phone and the
Contractor shall be ! responsible for replacement costs if
the beeper or cellular phone i! s lost or damaged through
negligence. On-call services are not priced separately.
4.5. As part of the HCW's normal tour of duty, services will
be required on the day of observance of Federal
holidays. If services are provided on the day of observance
of Federal holidays, the HCW will not receive another
day off during the pay period and the Contractor will
invoice at the fixed price in Section B. If services are not
rendered on the day of observance of Federal holidays, tJ1e
HCW will be compensated for 8 hours worked. The

4.6. The HCW will accrue 8 hours of personal leave (annual
plus sick) at the end of each 2-week pay period. The
HCW shall be subject to leave approval in accordance with
Section C of the basic contract.
4.7. The Contractor need not provide back-up coverage for
the HCW during periods or approved leave and holidays.
