VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists is a large, multi-specialty 24-hour ref! erral practice located in a state-of-the-art facility in San Leandro (just 15 miles south of Berkeley) in the East Bay. The hospital is well established in the community with internists, cardiologists, and oncologists as well as, a surgeon and dermatologist. This hospital has a large emergency and urgent care caseload.
VCA BAVS is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our hard working and growing team. We have a swing and an overnight position available in our Emergency/ICU department. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, intermediate to advanced computer skills, be detail-oriented, enjoy teamwork, and have experience working in a veterinary hospital. Applicant should be skilled in the following areas: safe patient restraint techniques, blood drawing, radiology, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, pharmacy and patient care. Self-starter qualities are an absolute must, along with a strong desire to ! learn on the job and overcome new challenges daily. Most of ou! r technicians work a schedule that consists of a four day/night work week (10 hour shifts).
