Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Ava! ilable Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Internal Medicine (IM) need at Travis AFB, half way between San Francisco and Sacramento, CA. (about 52 miles each way)
Starts June 1, 2013 and is ongoing. All outpatient, Monday thru Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm Board Eligible -BE/ Board Certified - BC, Doctor of Medicine, MD or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, DO, Physician will admit and refer to specialists. Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries to include cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure, hyper tension, arrhythmias and respiratory diseases, etc. Physician will take part in clinic quality assurance program.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagno! se a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the b! iological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
