Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate:! 10/07/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A primary care physician is needed to provide home based primary care services out of this outpatient clinic. Working hours are negotiable but would be 40 hours of work per week between Monday and Friday. The assignment will start immediately upon the completion of credentialing and will last for thirteen weeks, or until a permanent candidate can be identified.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
The physician shall be eithe! r board certified or board eligible in a primary care specialty such as Internal Medicine or Family Practice. He or she also must obtain Basic Life Support certification prior to the start date.
