Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 12/02/2013Available Shifts: Day Shift

A primary care physician is needed to provide patient care services at this outpatient facility in a locum tenens basis. Working hours are from 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The assignment will start immediately upon the completion of credentialing and privileging and last for a period of three m! onths or until a permanent candidate can be identified.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.

Required Qualifications
The physician shall be trained and/or certified in a primary care specialty. Additionally, certification in Basic Life Support is required prior to the start date. A California state medical license is required.
