Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The physician will see approximately 10 patients per day, outpatient only. Typical working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The clinic's need is starting as soon as credentialing and privileging can be completed for a period of three to six months, possibly longer.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a! branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating t! he whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
The physician must be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Additionally, the physician will be required to obtain a Basic Life Support certification prior to the start date if they do not currently hold one. This requirement is at a government facility, so a license from any US state will qualify.
