Dr. Keyhani is an internist and health services researcher whose research program focuses on comparative effectiveness research, quality of care research and health care policy. Dr. Keyhani's research uses both VA data and other national datasets. The day to day activities will include, cohort construction, large data base construction, statistical analysis, participating and contributing to research meetings. Opportunities for scientific writing will also exist. The statistician will be partly supervised by senior statisticians that work with Dr. Keyhani. Oppo! rtunities for job growth exist.
Essential Functions:!
- Create SAS and/or Stata datasets from raw data and write data analysis programs
- Conduct advanced statistical analyses including longitudinal analyses using logistic and linear regression, survival analyses and repeated measures analyses.
- Produce written reports of data analyses
- Advise PI on appropriate statistical methods
- Contribute to research study design, and methods and results sections for research publications and grant applications
- Assist with table/figure creation for data presentation
- Conduct analyses involving large national administrative datasets
- Adhere to data security requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Degree in biostatistics or econometrics preferred
- Experience and ability to work with large national administrative datasets
- Perform programming and data ana! lyses
- Programming experience in SAS and other statistical software packages (e.g. Stata) required.
- Experience with instrumental variables analyses and propensity matching techniques a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Adherence to data security and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
